The name Cornucopia epitomizes vegetarian food in Dublin - it was the first ever vegetarian restaurant in the city when it opened almost 40 years ago in 1986. Still going strong, it's busy all day, every day, popular among locals and visitors, whether vegetarian or not. The menu changes daily, but you can expect the breakfast menu to include things like scrambled tofu with balsamic yoghurt; almond, pumpkin seed and banana granola; or acai bowls.
WHERE: 153 Capel Street, Dublin 1 | 5 minute walk from the apartment | WHAT: Trendy cafe/restaurant | €€ | TIMES: 9am-4pm, Monday-Wednesday; 9am-11pm, Thursday & Friday; 9.30am-11pm, Saturday; 9.30am-4pm, Sunday | RESERVATION: Can book online here but Brother Hubbard keeps most tables for walk-ins | WEBSITE: brotherhubbard.ie
Not an exclusively vegetarian menu but there are a huge range of vegetarian and vegan options for breakfast (and also for lunch and dinner) at Brother Hubbard. This is hugely popular among Dubliners and for good reason - the food is fantastic and there is a really nice atmosphere. It's good value, too. More recently, more tourists are finding their way to Capel Street (especially since it was named in the list of the coolest streets in the world a couple of years ago by Time Out) but it's still authentic Dublin.
