Express bus service between Dublin Airport and Dublin City. There are 2 bus stops in the Airport for the Aircoach service - one at Zone 2 in Terminal 1, the other just outside the arrivals area at Terminal 2. To reach the apartment, you can take either Route 700 or 701. Buses depart every 15 mins and the journey is around 30 minutes depending on traffic. Get off the bus at the 'Grafton Street/Trinity College' stop. From there, it's a 10-minute walk to the apartment. Tickets can be purchased online in advance (link above), at the Aircoach departure points at terminals, or from the driver. The Adult fare is €10 one way or €12 return (€5 one way and €6 return for children).
Alternative express bus service between Dublin Airport and Dublin City. Has pick-up stops at Zone 1 at Terminal 1 and Zone 21 at Terminal 2. The first bus departs Dublin Airport at 3.05am and the last one departs at 12.35am. The journey from the Airport to City is c. 30 minutes. Buses have free Wi-Fi, USB charging points and onboard toilet. Three different routes serve the City Centre: #782, #783 and #784. If you take the 782, get off the bus at Stop #312 [Wellington Quay / Temple Bar]. It's a 4-minute walk to the apartment. The other routes are slightly less convenient but you can also take the 783 (get off at Stop #2385 [Patrick St/Christchurch], which is a 8-minute walk) or the 784 (get off at Stop #7588 [Trinity College, College Green & Temple Bar], which is a 10-minute walk. Purchase tickets online via the Dublin Express website (link above) or at terminal bus stops. The standard fare is €8 one way and €10 return.
Taxis are available from the taxi ranks directly outside both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 of Dublin Airport. Just follow the signs from inside the terminals. Once you join the queue, a taxi dispatcher will assist. The usual fare from the Airport to the apartment is around €25-€30, but this depends on traffic congestion, number of passengers and time and day of pick-up. If the fare is any higher, ask for a printed receipt. Fares can be paid with cash or credit card. The journey will take between 25-40 minutes. During busy times you may have to wait for a taxi to become available but the wait is rarely more than 5-10 minutes.
Dublin's public transport service Dublin Bus operates two routes between the Airport and the City Centre (routes # 16 and 41). These are cheaper but slower alternatives to the express bus options. Both depart from Zone 15 of the Airport. The 16 bus operates between 06:00 - 23:30 Monday to Saturday, and 08:00 -23:30 on Sundays. The 41 bus runs 24/7 every day including weekends. Note that the 41 bus is more direct - so a lot quicker - than the 16. The standard one-way fare is €2 adult. Payment can be made in coins (exact fare only) to the driver on the bus or using pre-paid tickets (Dublin Bus tickets or Leap Card) which can be purchased in retail outlets or at ticket machines at selected bus stops. Journey time varies depending on the time of day, traffic conditions etc., but tends to be between 40-60 minutes. If take the 41, get off the bus at Lower Abbey Street - it's then a 15-minute walk to the apartment. If take the 16, get off at South Great Georges Street - it's then a 7-minute walk to the apartment.
