Visit the Leprechaun Museum

What? An experience that gives you an insight into Celtic folklore and culture | Where? 2-3 Mary's Abbey, Dublin 7, D07X6R6 | How to get there? It's a 5 minute walk from the apartment | Cost: Adults, €18; Children, €11 | Tickets/booking: Get tickets here | Opening hours? 10am-6.30pm, Sunday to Thursday; 10am-8pm, Friday & Saturday

Suitable for ages 6 and up*, the Leprechaun Museum is fairly entertaining (just be aware that reviews are mixed - alternating between enthusiastic recommendations and damning warnings to avoid; some say it's too complicated for younger children ). Not just about leprechauns (which are, in fact, malicious elves in folklore!), this is all about Irish myth and folklore - an interactive experience into Ireland's mythical otherworld. (* Note, between April and Septemberm there is a separate "Darkland" experience on Friday and Saturday evenings (from 7pm), which is for over 18s only as it explores "the dark and twisted side of Irish folklore" - some of the stories are fairly disturbing!)
