Shoe Lane Coffee, which opens at 6.30am from Monday to Friday (but not until 8am on weekends), has great coffee, as well as a range of pastries, cakes, healthy treats, sourdough toasties, artisan sausage rolls (vegetarian options too) and so on. There is good, free wifi and lots of seating upstairs.

Whether you want a Full Irish breakfast, just a coffee or something in between, Keogh's is a great option. It's a hugely popular cafe among locals and tourists alike - always buzzing with shoppers, office workers and students from nearby Trinity College. It's also one of the earliest-opening cafes in the city centre - opening at 6.30am every morning except for Sundays (when it opens at 8.30am).
